Sonic Boom Video Game Wii U: Why It’s Necessary
As a long-time fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, I was excited to hear about the upcoming Sonic Boom video game for the Wii U. After all, the Wii U has been in need of a major exclusive title for some time now, and Sonic Boom seemed like it could be the perfect game to fill that void.
However, after seeing the recent gameplay footage and reading about the game’s new features, I’m starting to have some doubts. For starters, the game’s graphics look incredibly outdated, even by Wii U standards. The character models are stiff and lifeless, the environments are bland and uninspired, and the overall visual style is a far cry from the vibrant, cel-shaded look of previous Sonic games.
In addition, the game’s new gameplay mechanics seem to be a step back from the classic Sonic formula. For example, the new “boost” ability allows Sonic to move at breakneck speeds, but it also makes it difficult to control him.
