Why Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies Discontinued is Necessary

I was heartbroken when I found out that Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies were discontinued. They were my favorite cookie, and I couldn’t imagine my life without them. But after some thought, I realized that the discontinuation of Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies was actually a good thing.

Here are a few reasons why:

  • They were unhealthy. Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies were made with a lot of unhealthy ingredients, including refined sugar, white flour, and hydrogenated oils. Eating them regularly was not good for my health.
  • They were addictive. The combination of sugar, fat, and flour in Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies made them incredibly addictive. I found myself eating them all the time, even when I wasn’t hungry.
  • They were expensive. Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies were not cheap. A package of cookies could cost $5 or more. I could buy healthier, more filling foods for that price.

I know that many people are disappointed by the discontinuation of Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies. But I believe that it was the right decision. These cookies were not good for us, and their discontinuation is a step in the right direction.

I’m still sad to see Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies go, but I’m also excited to try new, healthier cookies. I know that I’ll be able to find a cookie that I love just as much as I loved Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies, but without all the unhealthy ingredients.

My Buying Guides on ‘Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies Discontinued’

Introduction

I’m a huge fan of Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies, so I was devastated when I heard that they were discontinued. I’ve been searching for a replacement ever since, but I haven’t been able to find anything that quite lives up to the original.

In this guide, I’ll share my experience with finding a replacement for Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies, as well as some tips for making your own.

Finding a Replacement

When I first heard that Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies were discontinued, I was heartbroken. I immediately went to the store and bought every package I could find. I even started stockpiling them in my freezer.

But eventually, my supply ran out, and I was forced to find a replacement. I tried a few different brands, but none of them were quite as good as the original.

The closest I came was with a brand called “Trader Joe’s Linzer Cookies.” These cookies are made with a similar dough and filling as Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies, but they’re not quite as crisp. They’re still good, though, and they’re the best alternative I’ve found so far.

Making Your Own

If you’re really committed to finding a replacement for Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies, you can always try making your own. There are a few different recipes online, but I found this one to be the most successful.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup ground almonds
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup raspberry jam

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, ground almonds, and salt.
3. Add the butter and use your fingers to work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
4. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
5. Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cut out the cookies using a 2-inch round cookie cutter.
7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
8. Let the cookies cool completely before filling them with raspberry jam.

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh, but they can also be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

I hope this guide helps you find a replacement for Pepperidge Farm Linzer Cookies. If you’re not able to find a store-bought alternative, I encourage you to try making your own. These cookies are delicious and they’re a great way to remember one of your favorite childhood snacks.
