I first saw West Side Story on stage in the early 1960s, and I was immediately captivated by the music, the story, and the dancing. I saw the movie version a few years later, and it only reinforced my love for the show.
Over the years, I have listened to the soundtrack countless times, and I have always been impressed by the quality of the music. The songs are beautiful, the orchestration is lush, and the lyrics are powerful.
