Why Dak Prescott Rated Rookie is Necessary
I was skeptical when the Cowboys drafted Dak Prescott in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. After all, they had just signed Tony Romo to a four-year, $108 million contract. But Prescott quickly proved me wrong.
He started the final four games of the season after Romo suffered a season-ending back injury, and he led the Cowboys to a 3-1 record. He threw for 1,666 yards and 10 touchdowns, with just four interceptions. He also ran for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
Prescott showed poise and maturity beyond his years. He made big plays in big moments, and he never seemed rattled. He quickly became a fan favorite in Dallas, and it was clear that he was the future of the franchise.
