Choosing the Right Materials and Activities

The first step to effective classroom instruction is choosing the right materials and activities. You need to make sure that the materials are age-appropriate and engaging, and that they’re aligned with your learning goals.

When choosing materials, I always consider the following factors:

  • The interests of my students.

I also make sure to preview all of the materials before I use them in class, so that I can make sure they’re appropriate and engaging.

In addition to choosing the right materials, it’s also important to choose the right activities. The activities you choose should be challenging but achievable, and they should allow students to actively engage with the material.
