Why Calvinism Is a Cult
I grew up in a Calvinist church, and I can attest to the fact that it is a cult. I was taught that I was a sinner, and that I was saved by God’s grace alone, but that my salvation was not secure. I was constantly told that I had to be careful not to do anything that would jeopardize my salvation, and that I was never good enough. This created a lot of anxiety and fear in me.
Calvinism is a cult because it teaches that God is arbitrary and capricious. It teaches that God has predestined some people to be saved and others to be damned, and that there is nothing that those who are damned can do to change their fate. This is a cruel and unjust doctrine that does not reflect the love of God that is shown in the Bible.
